One of the best things about “vintage” is that it is usually full of character.  Although I’m not history buff I can’t help but imagine where my pieces have been and what they have seen before they came to be part of the inventory.  Two of my favorite pieces were bought at separate times but are great compliments to each other.

They are both the same amazing color of blue, they both have chippy paint, and they both have great character!

This trunk  is especially fantastic because it has the original owner’s name on it.  It has military roots and great detail.  Currently it is enjoying its retirement as a coffee table in the showroom and is often rented out as a great lounge area table.

This blue chippy desk still makes me happy every time I look at it.  It has amazing wrought iron legs that look like they once were on a sewing machine table.  The desk itself has a draw that I usually pull out and fill with small bottles and flowers but it can be used for whatever your heart desires.
